A few new things to add to the fraud which is still happening on the Internet. First a quick recap. This is in reference to just pay shipping for Pets who are up for adoption from but not limited to, Africa, Cameroon, Nigeria and the like. Many of these crooks claim to be either from the USA, or from somewhere in Europe, they are not! They are all from Africa, mostly from Cameroon, and Nigeria. The story is almost always the same, they moved from the states, they are with the USO, or are with some kind of missionary group, and they can no longer take care of their precious pure bred puppy or puppies (pet) due to either the climate, or living conditions. Commonly used dog breeds are English Bulldogs, Yorkshire terriers, Labs, Maltese and Chiuaua's . Other types of Pets include Parrots and Monkey's,all do not exist, and the persons who are offering them for adoption are criminals. They advertise on web sites, and in Newspapers, they ask for Western Union, or MoneyGram payment, most of the time in the one hundred and fifty to three hundred and fifty dollar range. They do not use proper English in the Emails they send, they all have real sad stories to tell, they are all trying to rip you off! They make claims that real Pet transport companies will be delivering the Pets to you, here is a link to a blog that explains who we are , many times they use two or more real company names in the Emails they send, most of the time, but not always the Email addresses used are free ones like Yahoo, Gmail, Rocketmail, Deliveryman.com,Mail.com Hotmail or any other FREE Email address. Another dead giveaway is the foreign number starting with a zero like 07564356629. Now for the update and new tactics. Snakes and Kittens are new kinds of Pets they are using, and they are also claiming that different "BRANCHES" of real companies that do not exist are handling the deliveries. The real companies exist, but the made up "branches" these crooks use do not! If they are claiming that a particular company is handling the delivery of a Pet to you, and you search and find that company but the Email and phone numbers do not match it is a SCAM send them nothing they will steal your money! hello my name is ashanti h. and i was almost a victim of this kind of fruad...i went to a classifies website called stumblehere.com and asked for info on a female shih tzu located in atlanta named Shena..the owner only wanted 200 dollars for the pet because they said they were starting a new job and would not have the time to take care of the dog because of so much traveling. they stated that they were just looking for a good home for the dog and was willing to give her away for next to nothing to do that. me and the so called owner emailed back and forth for about 5 days to get all infomation needed.when i asked them fo rthere info they gave me andress and number i didnt find out intil later investigation that it was an address to a hotel in atlanta and a disconnected number.The only info that they got from me was name address and phone. but as soon as they got that info they called constantly early in the morning when i finally answered the phone a man stated that "the agency" was ready to deliver my shih tzu to me and needed me to complete the order form on an email that was sent and pay the 150 dollar fee. I thought this was suspect, and was not about to send my money for an animal i had not seen. the people doing this scam are african and they are calling there company "The Cabrio Pet Delivery Service". i am glad that i found out the truth before they got my money.......

We were just about to send money today for a Husky puppy but luckily the ladies at the post office thought it sounded like a scam.
The guy selling the puppy was called Alex Dane and he said he was in inverness in Scotland, his email was alexdane50@yahoo.com and the company they were going to use to send was animal_away@scotlandmail.com
The website looks totally like the really animalsaway.com web page so we were still thinking of sending the money, we called the number provied and they were still trying to convince us that we had to send the money to Cameroon as there offices delt with the money better, at this point we did think it does sound dodge, it was only when the ladies at our post office told us not to do it as they had heard this was happening that we stopped everything.
I email these people back telling them i was going to the police and funnily enough we've not heard from them.
Its such a same people have to do scams like this as we had are hopes up thinking we were getting a new puppy today.

Hello my name is Rose and l almost became a victim today... I was thinking from the start that this sounds too good to be true and l was right.. Someone by the name of Karen Williams wrote me about a bird from an add that l posted on Kijiji. She said that she had one for adoption and it came with everything all as l had to do was promise to look after it... That to me was great due to l suffer from Post Tramatic Stress Disorder and this would have helped with winter depression... Well she emailed me for approx. 3 weeks and l said today would be a great day to send the bird.. I got an email stating she sent it off this morning and l would have it tonight.. I got thinking it doesn't take that long to ship a bird from St John's to Hamilton area... I kind of figured something was up, then l got an email from TravelIn'pets stating my bird was ready and it was leaving in 5 and 1/2 hours but l needed to go and get a money gram and send it to Cameroon.. This is not the first time for me so l knew once l seen the Cameroon that this was a scam. But l did call the agency just to make sure and sure enough it was... The 2 names of people l have is Karen Williams and her addy is: karenwil177@gmail.com and jessicaya77@yahoo.com... These people really need to stop doing this. I'm so glad l didn't send any money to anyone...
Hello guys, I too almost fell prey to one of these lowlifes today. They were offering an english bulldog puppy for free, all i had to do was pay the shipping. They almost reeled me in with it except I am 4th year criminal justice student and in the end I managed to outwit them. cyber crimes are one of the main things we learn about.
Here is a tip for anyone buying anything online that seems dodgy.
once you engage in conversation with them and things seem to moving along.. ask them where their location is. from there make them go to this link http://whatismyip.com and have them print screen the page to you.
now this will either.
1) make them leave you alone right then and there
2) if they are dumb enough to go through with it you will know their exact location within a mile or two. (you can see if they match)for example I was told they were from Halifax canada. yet his ip matched up to somewhere in cameroon.
3) if they are a scammer they will make some sort of balony excuse.
if any of those things happen terminate any proceedings with them and if they do give you their ip. turn it over to the authorities.
This will work more often then not because a legit person has nothing to hide.
these people are absolute dirtbags and I would have loved to gotten my hands on them after they got my hopes up and then tried to steal my money. I even poured my heart out saying how I wanted a puppy for my girlfriend and I and how I promised I would be a great for home for it and so on so forth.
these people will steal your last dollar given half a chance.
I hope this helps everyone out some because I cant imagine how bad it would honestly feel to shell out alot of money for somthing (especially a puppy) and never have it show up.

hey ya'll; im in the MIDDLE of dealing with this. he's only gotten my name, phone number, and address and apparently, he's posting my phone number online as his own! =O but he promised me a maltese for free, he's been dealing back and forth with me and my mom. it's ridiculous!!! anyone care to help me? im about to lose my mind with this because i have severe anxiety disorder and am bipolar so this isn't helping with my mental health.
I'm not sure if we've been dealing with this or not. they've started out saying they're from cameroon, so I'm not sure if they've just given up on lying about their location, or if it's real. they told me I had to pay shipping, and the next day said I had to pay insurance. unfortunately, I've already payed shipping. but they said they won't ship her w/o the ins. supposedly the seller payed part of it, but I have no way of knowing. BILU03 Do not send anymore money you have probably just been taken for.. I had someone who told me they were in St John's and when l looked up there address they were from the States... You will just have to chalk it up and a loss and a lesson.... Never send money for anything, onless you know who it is... It's better to find someone close by that you can go and see what you are buying and know what kind of shape it is in and also know you are paying for something you are going to take home..

Hello my name is Andre V. This guy said he was going to let me and my girlfriend adopt his two Yorkshire Terriers for 180 for shipping. He then said that the airline was going to send us a email stating all of our puppys flight information. After that email another email was sent from the Cameroon Airport stating that we needed to pay an 829.00 insurance fee for the pup. After we told Ndi Theophile that we were not paying for that insurance and that we wanted our money back. He said that he had already payed for the plane ticket and that there was no refunds. He has an ad on adpost.com and creaturesandcritters.com. After we been fucked over we then searched for scams and found these. So thank you even though we were late. Trust me it won't happen again.

After reading the posts on this site, I asked the person how the puppy will be shipped. They said Camair. The persons name was Frank and Jennifer Awemo. email jawemo@yahoo.com.
One thing you can do is ask the people you are talking with to take a picture of the puppy with an object of your choosing (coke can or a piece of paper with your name on it.) If they don't or make up an excuse, they are a scammer!!

today i have been scammed ,and scared .
i was looking for a parrot in my area when i came across an ad for a parrot in my county ,i contacted them ,lots of email came back and forth usually from someone called simon ,then i found out they are based in Belfast , obviously i could go there to see the birds and they did ask if i could pick it up .i told them i wasnt happy buying a bird this was ,but they mailed me so much telling me about the bird i began to trust , they said obviously they need some sort of payment up front ,i said im not sending all but agree to send half £200 then i asked for address etc i did get an address but they said moneygram would be easier ,i shouldve seen then ,but by this time i was excited about my new parrot ,it shouldve been delivered at 11.30 this morning it never arrived , i emiled them , no answer ,then a mail came from Animal Away International .saying i have to pay another $180 TO a name and address in Cameroon. amd if i didnt i could go to jail for 2 years for breaching some animal legal act . this scared me , i have all the email from these people .the moneygram reciept and all my replies .has anyone had similar , i took the risk of sending 200 ,i know that put this official letter really scared me .

my husband and I almost got duped by this. a girl from facebook posted a picture of her bulldogs. my husband commented on it and then she started contacting my husband saying that she was going to give the puppies to him because she was going to London and she couldnt take care of them anymore. i asked him to ask her where she is from and she said she is from the US. he asked her why of all people, she would be giving it to him when they barely knew each other. after several messages, assuring that she really wants to send the puppies to him (she even mailed him photos of the puppies), she asked for details. i was reading their conversation and i was doubtful of the fact that she is from the US and London is nearer, and why would she ship the puppies to halfway round the world when she can give it away to her neighbors or friends.
she then asked for mailing address, phone nos., etc and he asked if he was going to pay for anything. she answered that it's only $100 for the shipping if there would be no personal caretaker for the puppies or $200 if he wants one.my husband said he can only afford $100. and she said it would be okay, and she would just put food in the puppies cages. she said that the courier would ship it direct to our doorstep and the shipper would be emailing us regarding the details and we have to pay first before we deliver. she was in a hurry to get the info and to log off since she said, she was off to book the flight for the puppies.
i was still in doubt about it so we waited for the email to come. i was more in doubt when i read from the email of the supposed carrier that the puppies would be coming from nigeria!!!! and the english was bad--- i thought it would not be possible that a company with bad grammar as this would exist in the US. so i did dome googling and found this site. thank you soo much!
i had this gut feeling that it was too good to be true ( getting two bulldogs and paying for it for only $100). the girl had no other photo than herself- and no details too...to protect the person, i would only give her first name as shown in her Facebook profile- Sandra - just in case she is innocent.
