Bashing Industry leaders for Better Business ?

In all industries there are leaders, companies that lead by example, effort, know how, and flat out statistics. It is wonderful to be a leader in a particular field, unfortunately it also makes you a target for smaller struggling companies who do not do the volume that the industry leading companies do. It seems that the new method of action by these inferior companies, is to bash the top companies. In this blog we ask the question, is it right for companies that are simply failing, to make accusations and flat out lie to paint their companies in a better light,regardless of their field ? Another words is it ethical to bash a company simply because they are more successful than you are? It seems in these times for some companies the answer is Y-E-S. Not naming any names since that goes against a leaders ethics, but there are some out there(you know who you are) who have come to what can only be described as"a last ditch effort" when all else fails, when they fail, blame it on the masses! It has nothing to do with your unethical practices, it is everyone else who is wrong and keeping you down,stopping your success, its certainly not you of course. You need to take ACTION and EXPRESS your particular specialty, not your sour grapes and short comings. Sometimes in business like in life, you have take a look in the mirror for answers, sometimes others are just better in their field, in their marketing, with their connections, with their accounts etc.. it is the American way. Any small business owner in this country who sees that a particular company (smaller less successful company) names and bashes much bigger and well known companies on their web sites in their advertising etc. would raise an eyebrow, I mean don't talk about how you and your company is the best, bash the well known companies, and never have any actual proof or data to back you up.Just say anything. This post is just an observation of different industries including the Pet shipping industry and some of the levels that desperate failing companies will stoop to, is it right? We think not, what is your opinion please share your thoughts. Is "if you cant beat'em, bash'em" a smart tactic for those who are failing in business?

It is becoming less of an issue here in the USA, not to say that it is not still happening, but at least we have seen a huge decrease in the numbers of Americans getting ripped off by these criminals. Again, this SCAM is still being used here in the USA, it just is not working as well as before. Places like France, London, and Spain are a completely different story. In the past six months we have seen a huge increase in these puppy and pet adoption SCAMS abroad, France, London,Spain as well as other places throughout the world, are now the popular target for these common criminals. They are using language as a new weapon in their criminal arsenal. They actually use legitimate companies real contact information, this helps these crooks in two ways... one way is they see a real website that looks real and legitimate because it is! And the second.. When the unsuspecting victim gets the actual real cost for the delivery of a Pet, they quickly jump at the idea of sending the crook $300.00 for the delivery fee, because a real transport would be $2,000.00 or so. Also,by targeting people who speak French, or Spanish, they are able to fool them easily, these criminals act like they are with a legitimate company, but when the French or Spanish speaking people call, they are not able to communicate because the companies they are using are all based in the USA and all speak English. It is the same old thing, people falling for this SCAM over and over. Remember..all of these crooks are from Africa, regardless of the language they use in their emails, they are all African! Cameroon is the #1 location for these criminals. Never, ever, send money to someone you do not know, EVER. Also never use Western Union or Money Gram to pay for a pet adoption, EVER. Just because people claim to be on the up and up, good Christians, and claim to be missionaries etc... does not mean that they are, their goal is to steal your money! Pet Transport and adoption SCAM update, Sellers BEWARE.

An old SCAM makes its return to the Internet and FREE ad sites are again at the heart of this FRAUD. Now it is the sellers of Pets who must beware. For years there have been fake check SCAMS running all over the web, this is when a criminal sends you a check for more than the asking price, and tells you to keep the difference. It works like this, you place an ad for some Pets you are selling, someone contacts you and says that they are going to send you a check for much more than the asking price, they will allow you to keep more money than the asking price, you take the check and deposit it into an account, and send them the difference, problem is the check is fake and now you have lost your money. There are a couple of dead giveaways with this SCAM, one is when the buyer claims to be hearing impaired and contacts you through a service that translates the conversation for you, another of course is that they are actually offering you more than the asking price of the Pet you are selling. This is just another twist on another Internet SCAM. It is unclear whether these criminals are in the U.S or abroad, either way it is a SCAM to avoid, and it is most likely going on all over the world, so location really does not matter. Whenever there is uncertainty in a situation, it is always best to contact a professional, whether it is a Pet transport company or the administration of the site you have advertised on, it is always best to ask questions before rather than waiting until it is too late. These criminals also may claim that they are sending a Pet shipping company to pick up the Pet from you, CALL THAT COMPANY!! If they can not be found or if they are a legit company and claim to know nothing about it, it is a complete FRAUD and you should get out of the situation! Pet Transport and Free Classified Ad FRAUD

There are many sites on the Internet which allow FREE classified ads. It is as simple as going to a site and placing an ad for anything for FREE. This creates a very unsafe environment for the public, ads can be placed without any back round check or screening. Pet shipping and Pet Transport companies along with the public have been dealing with the fallout from these "FREE" ad sites for years now. Sites like Kijiji.com, Craigslist.org and the like are really allowing this FRAUD to fester. Even when these sites are alerted of these fraudulent ads they seem to ignore the WARNINGS. Free puppy adoption and pet adoption SCAMS can be found on all of these FREE classified ad sites, they are easily found with a quick search, yet WARNINGS placed on these sites are quickly taken down by the administrators. It almost seems like they are encouraging this kind of thing. On this blog the ads to the right often are placed by Kijiji and they read like this "Adopt Pets for Free
Buy, Sell and Adopt Pets Free 100% Free Pet Classifieds at Kijiji " this is why this kind of FRAUD continues, again it almost seems like they encourage this kind of activity. We have taken many steps to try to protect the public from this criminal activity, until these sites step up and do a better job of policing their sites it is safe to say that this FRAUD will continue. If something does not sound on the "up and up" it most likely is not, any FREE ad offering pet adoption should be looked at as suspect. Any pet shipping service must be completely researched before you send money to anyone. Pure bred puppies, exotic birds baby monkeys etc... are expensive they are not given away for a couple of hundred dollars for the "shipping charges". As I always say "if it sounds to good too be true, it probably is".

Pet and Puppy Adoption FRAUD Grows Internationally

Finally, after three years of WARNINGS, it seems that the very common adopt a Pet or Puppy SCAM is on the decline in the USA. Many people are becoming aware of this common SCAM, much like the EURO LOTTO email SCAMS that we all have seen. We have seen a significant decline in this type of FRAUD. Although these crooks still try to dupe people out of their money, there are now so many WARNINGS and so much information on the subject all over the web that people are becoming wise to this kind of FRAUD here in the United States. With this good news comes a bit of bad...Europe is now being targeted by these crooks. In the majority of instances we have seen in the last two months or so, just about ninety percent of these SCAMS are aimed towards countries other than the U.S. Phone numbers that start with a zero involving a Pet adoption are a SCAM. It is very common for these crooks to copy a site from the USA, phone number and all, and also provide foreign numbers like these examples (+237-7933-4578 or 01123777645485) If the phone number is not from the country that the criminal claims to be from, than it is a SCAM. FREE listing sites are a breeding ground all over the Internet for these SCAMS, all FREE AD sites are used by these crooks. Anytime MONEYGRAM or WESTERN UNION is the preffered method of payment for any kind of Pet adoption, IT IS A FRAUD, DO NOT SEND THEM YOUR MONEY. FRAUD on the Decline in the Pet Shipping Industry

The very common adopt a Puppy SCAM out of Africa, Nigeria, Cameroon and the like, has really been on the decline. Spreading the word about these kinds of SCAMS, blogging and web site Pet adoption WARNINGS, seem to have really been making a difference. These criminals now are trying to create fake Pet transport companies, rather than use real Pet shipping companies as the 'supposed' to be delivery service. In the past we saw more criminals pretending to be with real companies, now they seem to use variations of real company names or just make up fake company names completely. If only web sites like Kijiji.com and Craigslist.com would get on board, and help warn the unsuspecting public, we could be rid of this SCAM forever. The fact that mainstream sites and sites in general allow FREE listings (Ads) from anyone with no screening process at all, combined with the fact that Western Union and Money Gram let people send money to these crooks,when they are well aware of this SCAM and many other FRAUDS coming out of this part of the world, yet they are still allowing people to be taken. This is the only reason why this SCAM is still even out there at all. We have done everything to contact all of the companies and sites we have mentioned in this post, their actions prove that they feel no responsibility to anything. Which is why, if you are ever unsure about a Pet adoption that you found in a classified ad in a newspaper or a web site listing, you will know right away that it is a FRAUD, because at any time when payment is to be made by Western Union or Money Gram, you know it is a SCAM even if you found an ad in a Newspaper, or a site offering FREE pure bred Puppies for shipping costs, paid by these methods, it is a SCAM. Any site which allows classified ads is suspect, these criminals have even been known to use paid ads as well. Although things have really calmed down with this SCAM, it is still a real threat and is still found all over the Internet and publications worldwide. These criminals will stop at nothing to rip you off, remember, all of these SCAMS are out of African countries, make sure you talk on the phone in your countries language, beware of foreign numbers, incorrect use of language in emails, free email services like Yahoo, GMail, Rocketmail, Mail.com and the like, all signs of FRAUD. Pet Shipping Service Required by Airlines

Many airlines now require that individuals moving Pets into the United States, must use a third party TSA known shipper. Meaning, in order to move a Pet into the USA, a Pet shipping company would be needed to make the proper arrangements through the airlines. In these times the airlines seem to be leaning in this direction across the board including domestic Pet airline travel as well, preferring to deal with a "known shipper" someone who is known by the TSA rather than a random passenger. We continue to add new information as we come across criminal activity designed to steal money from innocent people. On October 22 2008 AnimalsAway.com did a lengthy interview with WWOR 9 news, all about this SCAM and Western Unions part in this SCAM. In this interview all aspects of the adopt a pet SCAM are addressed. From, fake Emails, toll free numbers, names of these crooks, companies that they claim to be with, web sites and Newspapers where these crooks advertise their "pets" for adoption, if you just pay shipping. We have also come across a crook who really seems to be one of the leaders in this SCAM, he uses the company name AnimalAwayintl (FRAUD,FAKE COMPANY) they claim to be in Louisiana and Austin Texas, THEY ARE NOT! THEY ARE IN CAMEROON!! They are using a toll free number it is 866-285-2753 or 1-866-285-2753 it is a SCAM!! This is also a FRAUD NUMBER BEING USED 1-866-427-8212 SCAM CRIMINAL TRYING TO RIP YOU OFF 866-427-8212 IS A FRAUD!!THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY WE ARE IN NO WAY AFFILIATED WITH THIS CROOK!!!

We have also found other crooks with "FREE PETS" for adoption they are using many different variations of our name, here are the FAKE COMPANY NAMES, ANIMALSAWAY PET MOVING SERVICE, ANIMALSAWAY PET CARGO DEPARTMENT,ANIMALSAWAY EXPRESS PETS DEPARTMENT (ALL ARE FAKE MADE UP COMPANY NAMES FRAUD) THEY ARE IN NO WAY AFFILIATED WITH THE WEBS TOP PET RELOCATION COMPANY AnimalsAway.com, the crooks using the fake names claim to be in California in the U.S, they are not!! They are also in Cameroon. Here are the phone numbers they are using (00237)94266646 -Or- the toll free number for FEMA ? (this blog will not allow the FEMA number to be displayed in this blog,please click the FEMA link above to see if this is the fake number being used by these criminals to rip you off) they are using this email address ANIMALSAWAYPETDELIVERY@USA.COM.USA- FRAUD!!

Parrots seem to be preferred bait being used, Puppies are still being used (various breeds), Monkeys, Snakes, and Kittens are being used as well. So, if you have been contacted by any of these criminals or anyone else who is offering a free pet for adoption, please do not send them a Western Union payment. A few new things to add to the fraud which is still happening on the Internet. First a quick recap. This is in reference to just pay shipping for Pets who are up for adoption from but not limited to, Africa, Cameroon, Nigeria and the like. Many of these crooks claim to be either from the USA, or from somewhere in Europe, they are not! They are all from Africa, mostly from Cameroon, and Nigeria. The story is almost always the same, they moved from the states, they are with the USO, or are with some kind of missionary group, and they can no longer take care of their precious pure bred puppy or puppies (pet) due to either the climate, or living conditions. Commonly used dog breeds are English Bulldogs, Yorkshire terriers, Labs, Maltese and Chiuaua's . Other types of Pets include Parrots and Monkey's,all do not exist, and the persons who are offering them for adoption are criminals. They advertise on web sites, and in Newspapers, they ask for Western Union, or MoneyGram payment, most of the time in the one hundred and fifty to three hundred and fifty dollar range. They do not use proper English in the Emails they send, they all have real sad stories to tell, they are all trying to rip you off! They make claims that real Pet transport companies will be delivering the Pets to you, here is a link to a blog that explains who we are , many times they use two or more real company names in the Emails they send, most of the time, but not always the Email addresses used are free ones like Yahoo, Gmail, Rocketmail, Deliveryman.com,Mail.com Hotmail or any other FREE Email address. Another dead giveaway is the foreign number starting with a zero like 07564356629. Now for the update and new tactics. Snakes and Kittens are new kinds of Pets they are using, and they are also claiming that different "BRANCHES" of real companies that do not exist are handling the deliveries. The real companies exist, but the made up "branches" these crooks use do not! If they are claiming that a particular company is handling the delivery of a Pet to you, and you search and find that company but the Email and phone numbers do not match it is a SCAM send them nothing they will steal your money! There is a new way to counter act this common Internet SCAM. This is the adopt a pet or puppy just pay the shipping SCAM, almost always coming from but not limited to Cameroon, Africa, Nigeria etc.. It seems we are not the only ones fed up with this trickery. With every day that passes this SCAM weakens. In this post I will try to provide some new insight into ways we can strike back against these criminals who prey on the unsuspecting. I am including some tips from our undercover SCAM buster who's name shall be changed to protect his identity. Below are his tips on how to avoid these SCAMS, fight back against these crooks and band with others who have also joined the fight!

Willy Eckislike's- Advice on puppy/pet scammers.........Puppy/pet scammers will post on website forums and blogs pretending to offer 'puppies' or various other animals for adoption for a small fee.They normally ask for all payments to be made by either western union or the money gram method. If you do send any money by any of these methods you will LOSE your money. They normally operate from west African countries such as Nigeria,Ghana,Cameroon and republic DE Benin. If you do get into communication with a scammer,please DO NOT send the following information 1. home address and telephone number 2. bank/credit card details 3. any form of ID eg passport or drivers license etc. 4. MONEY by any form if any scammers sends you any ID,it will be fake.they will workhard by e mail and phone to convince you they are legit. Always 'Google' their e mail address and if they provide any,company name DO YOUR RESEARCH. NEVER SEND ANY MONEY UNTIL YOU HAVE ACTUALLY SEEN THE ANIMAL IN REAL LIFE (in person) always buy from a recognized breeder to be safe. We are happy to report that the common Internet free pet and puppy adoption SCAM has really calmed down in the U.S. although we still see this SCAM, it has been less of an issue unfortunately the UK has become the new target of these criminals. In the U.S. the preferred payment method for these crooks was Western Union in the UK it is Money Gram, these criminals also like to tell the unsuspecting not to mention where they are sending the funds to and what the funds are for to the clerk in the postal office. The reason why they tell the victim not to mention the fact that they are adopting a pet from but not limited to Cameroon, Nigeria, Africa etc. is because they know that it is a SCAM and will stop the victim from sending the funds. As always we encourage anyone who has been approached by someone claiming to be giving away puppies and pets for just the shipping charges to contact us, or make sure they can verify the identity of the person that is making the claim. We are a USA based pet transport company, we do not have any offices outside of the U.S with our name. It is disturbing, but it continues to gain strength on the web. More and more people are falling victim to the popular, adopt a puppy scam. These crooks are copying web sites and emailing them to unsuspecting victims. They place ads in local papers and on the web, advertising puppies, parrots and baby monkeys up for adoption to good homes. The problem with stopping this scam, is that all web sites are public and can be copied and pasted very easily, the crooks do this in an effort to make the Email look legitimate. It is working, we take Emails and calls about this everyday, we are working with authorities to try to put an end to this. It is hard to believe that anyone would send money to Cameroon when the pup is in Chicago, or so the ad says, yet it happens everyday. Please do not send money to another country, or to anyone who is not a confirmed source, please always check with U.S based companies to see if the transaction you are trying to make is a legitimate one and not a common Internet scam. These crooks will steal your money!

Pet Shipping and Homeland Security

As a professional pet shipping company we are held to laws and security guidelines that must be followed to maintain a known shipper status. Known shipper status means that we are known by the airlines and the government (TSA). This allows us to provide much safer accommodations when moving a pet we do not have to go through crate inspections and risk the chance of losing a pet because it had to be removed from its crate for inspection at the time of departure. There are many other reasons that make using a TSA known shipper a must when choosing a pet relocation company such as the safety of the country, passengers, airlines etc. It seems that a until now companies that are not in major cities have been able to get around some of the guidelines which allow a company to be of known shipper status. A few companies will allow you to purchase the airway bill from them under their known shipping or TSA number (security) and go off and ship your pet on your own. This is illegal it is also very dangerous and it is really a bit of a rip off they are basically charging you to do something on your own and charging you for something you can do on your own directly through the airline with no guidance or services provided by these companies. For a fee they will give you the paperwork and then send you off under their security you still will do all the work and pay for the airfare and shipping crate. You hire a company to help you so that you do not have to deal with all of the ins and outs of handling your pets travel why would you pay someone and then go handle it all on your own? It is a rip off. The TSA has been cracking down on these smaller companies in the last few weeks and will be revoking the known shipper status from them in the upcoming weeks. This kind of practice puts us all at risk! It is not bad enough that the pet adoption scam is all over the Internet and nation wide newspapers from coast to coast in the U.S, it is now being expanded with different breeds of dogs and types of pets. So far this month we have experienced a huge increase in calls and emails regarding this subject. Along with this scam, is a fake check scam, in which they send you a check for a large amount to purchase a puppy from you and ask that you only send them a fraction of that money back with the pup, the thing is that by the time your bank alerts you that the check is fake, you have already sent them the balance and a puppy. We see that rare parrot eggs, parrots, and all different breeds of monkeys are now being included as bait in this scam. I am not sure how people are falling for this, I think it may just be a case of hearing what they want to hear. Some of the claims and statements made by these crooks should really be setting off alarms, if the English in the responses from these crooks is not evidence enough, than perhaps the fact that they are having you western union money to remote locations in Africa, for free pets, should be. Unfortunately the puppy adoption scam seems to be gaining strength. In the past two weeks I have taken more requests than I can keep track of, for puppy adoptions from Africa, Cameroon, and Nigeria. These criminals now have broadened the variety of the breeds they are using as bait. New breeds I am seeing offered by these crooks include, but are not limited to, Yorkie's, Maltese and Chihuahua's, I have also heard of baby monkey's being used as well. The reason why this seems to be working so well, is the locations that the scam artists are advertising, including, major news papers, and reputable pet adoption web sites, even on Yahoo pets. No matter how legit the ad looks, it is so important to confirm the location, and identity of the person who you are dealing with, send them nothing if you are even the slightest bit unsure. In the U.S there are so many pets available for adoption, I am still baffled by the thought of adopting a pet from out side of the country, it just doesn't make sense. Please if ever you are going to adopt a pet, please get in touch with a professional pet shipper before sending anyone any amount of money. It is not cheap to send a pet internationally, although the scam seems to almost always ask for only a couple of hundred dollars for shipping. Many things must be taken into consideration when moving a pet by air. Common mistakes and misconceptions include, wrong size crates, feeding a pet before travel, sedation, and to many items placed inside the carrier, to name a few. The first is crate size, very important for the safety and well being of your pet, a crate which is to big, or to small can create an unsafe environment for your pet and it is also the first thing the airlines look at when you arrive at the airport. When traveling, with the exception of water, which should be provided at all times, it is not necessary for your pet to have a full stomach, so feeding right before the trip is just not a good choice, for the few hours of travel your pet will be fine, it is actually recommended not to feed before the trip, to avoid any sickness, or soiling of the crate during travel. Sedation is not recommended, or preferred by the airlines, it is just risky and not suggested, to many potential problems (more listed in prior postings below). Toys, shirts, socks and things like that, that your pet can potentially eat and or choke on should not be put with them for travel. I also would note the fact that the airlines will take away anything that they see as a potential hazard, so to avoid the risk of losing any items it is better to just take them with you, or mail them ahead. When moving a pet it is important that you have the proper pet carrier for transport. Your pet must be able to stand up and turn around without slouching in an IATA approved shipping kennel(carrier). You do not want to choose a kennel that snaps together it is always best to use one that screws together to avoid separation during travel. Water bowls and live animal stickers are also required.
